About Us The Da'naxda'xw First Nation is an amalgamation of the Da'naxda'xw and Awaetlala tribes of Knight Inlet. The main village of the Da'naxda'xw, Tsatsisnukwomi, is situated at Dead Point on Harbledown Island. This village is in Indian Channel and approximately 25 kilometers east of Alert Bay on the west coast of British Columbia, Canada. The traditional territory of the Da'naxda'xw and Awaetlala people are all of the lands adjacent to Knight Inlet from mountain top to mountain top, all the watersheds that empty into Knight Inlet to their head waters and the Klinaklini River to its source. The southern boundary of the territory is defined by a line across the Inlet from Protection Point to Hoeye Head. We welcome visitors to our homeland as well as economic development initiatives.
